On Friday November 17th the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham was the venue for the Greater Boston Labor Council’s 14th annual honors dinner. Approximately 250 union leaders, activists and allies were in attendance as the council recognized the contributions of three outstanding leaders; Stephanie Muccini Burke, the Mayor of Medford, Congressman Mike Capuano and Jeff Sullivan, the Business Manager of Painters District Council 35.

The evening of solidarity also had an important fundraising component for the council. Over $25,000 was raised from the contributions of 45 affiliates and allies through purchases of ads in a program book designed for the event.

Another highlight of the event was the surprise visit of Jim Williams the past president of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. President Williams worked closely with Jeff Sullivan during his tenure in office and his remarks praising Brother Sullivan and the DC 35 team were a great reflection on Brother Sullivan’s leadership.
