On behalf of the 100,000+ union members and families in our region, the Greater Boston Labor Council is proud to endorse various labor champions on City Councils, School Committees, and in Mayors’ offices across the region. The candidates we endorse are essential to creating communities where working people can live and thrive. With strong partnerships, we can continue to make Greater Boston a region for all of us.

The following events and volunteer opportunities are going on in the cities below. Support our labor champions/endorsed candidates by volunteering to help in these ways:

Boston

        • Sign holding on Saturday morning, November 4th, from 8:30-10:00 am at the corner of Main Street/Foster Street in downtown Melrose.
        • Sign holding at rally with Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll on SUNDAY, November 5, at 1:00 pm at Melrose City Hall (Main/Essex Street).  
        • Sign holding on Election Day at Melrose Middle School voting site (enter Melrose Street). All day, times flexible!
        • GOTV fliers: we will be going out in shifts on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 to drop reminders to our good voters. We could use a few people on one of those days.

Revere

      • SEIU 509 Joint Canvassing Day of Action for Revere School Committee Candidate for Re-election Jacqueline Monterroso and City Council Candidate Juan Jaramillo 
      • This Saturday Oct. 28 10am-1pm 
      • Student Canvassing Day of Action (Flyer attached) 
        • This Sunday Oct. 29 4-6pm (dinner afterwards), joined by State Representative Manny Cruz and State Senator Lydia Edwards 
      • GOTV Canvassing 
        • Saturday Nov 4th 11-2pm and/or 3-6pm 
        • Sunday Nov 5th 10-1pm and 2-4pm 
      • GOTV Lit Drop 
        • Monday Nov 7th: All day, people can come whenever they have an hour or two to spare and we will give them an area to lit drop at houses 
      • Election Day Sign Holding at Polls 7am-8pm
        • We are asking volunteers to sign up for shifts of one hour or more. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided. 
      • Individual Phone Banking 
        • Volunteers can phonebank on their own time, whenever available. We will send out detailed instructions on how to phone bank and access our phone banking tool.  Contact jacqueline4revere@gmail.com with questions
