GBLC Commemorates Workers Memorial Day 2018

On Friday, April 27th, 2018  the Greater Boston Labor Council, along with the Massachusetts Coalition of Occupational Safety and Health (MassCOSH), Community Labor United, MA Jobs with Justice, Immigrant Workers Center Collabrative and the Massachusetts AFL-CIO held our annual commemoration of Workers Memorial Day on the steps of the Massachusetts State House. 

This annual event serves to honor workers who were killed, injured or suffered from illness on the job
and press for strong workplace health and safety protections for all workers

In 2017 there were 77 workplace or work-related fatalities in Massachusetts.  At the event, labor leaders read aloud their names and paid respect to them and their families..
