The Park Plaza Hotel in Boston was the venue for the Greater Boston Labor Council’s annual Labor Day breakfast on September 4, 2017. Over 600 union leaders, activists and elected officials attended the event.

A group of powerful speakers from the labor movement and the political arena took turns speaking out in support of unions and worker’s rights and also took aim at the actions of President Donald Trump. Martin J Walsh, the Mayor of Boston, US Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, Congressman Joseph Kennedy and Maura Healey the Commonwealth’s Attorney General all addressed the gathering.

In addition to the council’s officers the attendees heard from Mass AFL-CIO President Steve Tolman and Tyrek Lee the leader of SEIU/1199 in Massachusetts.

‘In these challenging times for the labor movement the breakfast was inspiring and reinforced the imperative of a strong labor movement to counter corporate power and the unhinged Presidency of Donald Trump. Noted GBLC Executive Secretary-Treasurer Rich Rogers.
