This Womens History Month, we celebrate the solidarity and power of garment workers. This profession is historically and today, made up largely of women who have faced incredible exploitation with remarkable solidarity. From the factory floors in Lawrence, MA over 100 years ago, women made gains that working people still benefit from today #BreadAndRoses. In South and Southeast Asia during the global pandemic today, garment workers have been fighting against the theft of their earned wages by global corporations, winning historic victories and shifting the practices of global fashion #PayUpNow.
