Statement from Darlene Lombos, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Greater Boston Labor Council, on the Election of AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler

“The Greater Boston Labor Council congratulates AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler on today’s well-deserved election. President Shuler has been a visionary leader for years as Secretary-Treasuer of the AFL-CIO and we know she will continue to lead this movement with sharp vision and pro-worker values. As the first woman union leader elected to serve in this role, Liz is not only making history but also paving the way for union members and leaders across the nation. We are honored to work alongside President Shuler and Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond to pass the PRO Act and build a powerful labor movement here in Boston and across the nation.”
